This year we got to travel to Dubai, United Emirates again! It’s by far one of our favorite destination and if it were even a bit closer it would be a spot we’d travel to much more often. If you’re planning a trip there soon (which you definitely should!) here’s a couple must do & see spots to add to your itinerary.
ScheduleTO FLY : When traveling to Dubai, the best way to fly is on the United Emirates Airline. It is like nothing you have ever experienced before. The economy seats are really like first class, with meals that give you vegan, veggie, meat, halal, and about 20 other options to choose from. Their leg room, snacks, service, and just EVERYTHING else is incredible and economy tickets are usually around the same price as any other airline. And added tip- if you get the chance to upgrade like we did, you’ll be left speechless. The first class is on the second level of the plane, with personal ipads, phones, TVs, handhelds, Bvlgari toiletry bag, even a bar and lounge area in the back, showers, macaroons and pastries at your leisure, champagne, and they even come set up an extra foam mattress on your bed when you’re in air for sleeping. Dare I say I was more comfortable in that seat than I was in my bed at home 😉
TO STAY : If you’re looking for a super posh (make you feel like a celebrity) type of place, Viceroy on the Palm is your spot. If you’re into an authentic, absolutely beautiful and Pinterest worthy boutique hotel, the XVA is stunning!
Schedule
TO DO ADVENTURE : One of our favorite things to do was the sand dunes followed by a ‘night in the sahara.’ They’ll pick you up from you hotel and take you hill jumping in the dessert, stop for you to take pictures and watch the sunset (which is breathtaking) and finally bring you to a dinner in the middle of the dessert with camel riding (which I encourage you not to do), sand boarding, authentic food, belly dancing show, and henna tattoos. It is definitely a must do when visiting Dubai. Everything is included and you can pick up tickets here.
TO RELAX : Take some time to relax and enjoy the Dubai Miracle Garden. It’s the most beautiful garden you’ll ever visit and it gives you time to enjoy nature and the beautiful views.
TO DO CULTURE : One of my favorite things about Dubai is the culture that is so different than the western world we’re use to. A must do is spend a day visiting Old Dubai & Souks. Take a taxi to Old Dubai Spice Souk and walk around! After a bit, take a water taxi across the water and explore more of the Souks Dubai has to offer. When you’ve grabbed some souvenirs and spices, make your way to XVA Hotel and Art Gallery and have lunch there. It is out of a picture book and will make you never want to leave. Rent a bike and explore the deeply meaningful Arabic art. This is my favorite day on our trip itinerary.
TO DO SIGHTSEE : Another favorite is the architecture in Dubai. A couple places you have to visit include the Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world), Dubai Fountains (a show that will give you chills), Burj Al Arab (a hotel build on water), and the famous Dubai Mall(with a skiing slope, ice skating rink, aquarium, and SO much more)
TO BRUNCH : Okay guys, this one is a little steep, but if you can plan it in your budget it will leave you speechless. The Jumeriah Al Qasar (one of THE most beautiful hotels in the world) has a $300 pp brunch that includes basically 15 restaurants side by side. It is magical if you’re a foodie and so worth a morning spent there. Dubai brunch’s hard and most restaurants are 300$ + per person so don’t be surprised at these tags if you look around. (Also, don’t forget that weekends are Thursday and Friday over there)
TO DO THE PALMS : The Palm Islands are breathtaking and if you can plan a day at Hotel Atlantis, it’s definitely worth the drive. The outdoor water park and aquarium are fantastic and beautifully made. Try the tallest slide that ends in a clear tube in a shark tank, or the endless pools and wave stimulators. It’s definitely a unique adventure!
Enjoy some of pictures below, and comment if you have any questions or places to add to this list!
