Last month, we had the chance to vacation at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort with Air Transat! If you were following along on our Instagram you know how much fun we had there and what a perfect getaway it was for our family. We had so many questions about our experience so I wanted to answer all your questions here
To start- our airport experience was a BREEEEZE. We booked our Air Transat flight with Option Plus package which meant we got to skip the regular line and go to a preferred check-in. The whole check -in process took us less than 5 minutes which is every moms dream when you’re traveling with children. If you have a child 2-11 years old you can also register them with the Air Transat Kids Club for free. It includes a little bag of goodies on the plane, free seat selection for your round trip booking, priority baggage handling, preboarding for families, and more. I definitely suggest signing up your kiddos before your trip! Every single time we fly with Air Transat we talk about how impressed we are with the planes, entertainment, cleanliness and customer service. We try to book our trips with an Air Transat flights every time we travel because of so many great experiences.
Once we arrived in Punta Cana we grabbed our luggage and met our private driver in the front. It was so nice having someone there waiting for us who spoke English, knew exactly where to take us, and helped us with all our bags. We always book a private transfer and I recommend it to our family and friends when they travel- it takes all your stress and worry about entering a new country away.
The second we got to the hotel we were greeted by their friendly staff that brought us to the check-in area. I loved how welcoming they were, especially with Joshua! It is so important to us that Joshua feels comfortable and happy when we travel! Once we were checked in we were shown to our room and then started to explore the grounds.
First stop- the beautiful beach. They had a nice bar, a separate beach snack bar, and the prettiest outdoor showers. We spent most days here because Joshua was able to run around and play without getting hurt. We also tried to watch the sunset every night because it was one of the most beautiful we’ve seen! Dominican Republic is such a gorgeous island.
Another thing I loved about the hotel was the emphasis on kids fun. They had a separate kiddie pool, a slow slope walk-in to the regular pool, and a fun kids park with slides, fountains, and shallow water. Joshua loved it and requested the slide the second he woke up every morning.
Now on to mine and Mathieu’s favorite part of this resort- the food! Agh, what I wouldn’t give to have some Dominican plantains at this very moment. The resort had so many places to eat. For breakfast, lunch and snacks you had 4 buffet options plus the snack bar and sports bar. For dinner you had over 13 a la carte restaurants to choose from! Everything from Indian, Japanese, and Spanish, to Seafood, Steakhouse, and Mediterranean. There were so many restaurants we didn’t even get a chance to try them all. The ones we went to were so delicious and they had great options for us since we’re vegan (let the chef know if you have any dietary restrictions and they accommodate).
Overall we really had a great experience on this trip with Air Transat and definitely recommend booking your next vacation package with them! They include flight, transfer and your stay per person and it is the most stress free way to book a trip. If you guys have any more specific questions please drop them in the comments below!
