Back just in time for a little Father’s Day adve

Back just in time for a little Father’s Day adventure. Our only rule for holidays? Giving an experience instead of a gift. Some years it’s a road-trip or weekend away, others it’s been white water rafting or candlelit picnic dinners in our favorite park. But every time- it’s something we experience together; making the sweetest memories to last us as time fades away.

Does it ever get any easier watching your baby grow up?

Something we learned while living in Mexico was ho

Something we learned while living in Mexico was how much beauty and importance there is in using the elements of your region and country. To skip the marble shipped from Italy or hardwood from China, and to marry your spaces with the land it survives on. Together all these elements create a story, a perfect harmony of sorts, complimenting each other and the earth we occupy.

The reason we keep coming back here; a resort that pays tribute and respect to the land and culture of Mexico instead of bulldozing it all down for a white ‘perfect’ beach. How much beauty is already here 🇲🇽

My only ask this Mother’s Day was for one family

My only ask this Mother’s Day was for one family photo but someone was getting a little annoyed of my slow photog skills and thought he could do it better. I think it’s safe to say, he was right. This may or may not be the screensaver on all our devices now 🙈

(Also noting that this was very soon followed by parents being kicked out for an “ollie and josh only” photo session 😂)

A little peak inside our first hidden nook. I thin

A little peak inside our first hidden nook. I think our most asked kitchen question has always been “but where is the stuff!” And I’d like to think it’s a little hidden game of sorts 😂 Behind nook number one- all of our glasses, dinnerwear, serving ceramics, plus some extra storage. After that we have our two fridges + freezers. Nook three (my favorite) is another sink, tabletop for cooking, vintage styled shelves, and lots of storage. And the final the last three doors are the walk in pantry that also has our oven + cabinet of kitchen gadgets hidden inside. The rest- is in the island.
It isn’t for everyone, as no interior usually is, but we’re so glad we went with our gut and trusted our architect to bring this idea of a minimalistic kitchen to life. A little gentle reminder that a home should be perfect for YOU not everyone else, and that usually, your gut is always right 😉
